Common branding advice to ignore if you’re a solo service provider ❌

Dear fellow designers, VA’s, copywriters, email marketing specialists, social media managers coaches…ETC. If you’re providing a service and you’re running it alone, this ones for you.

When you’re building a business, you’re told to think about the end customer, and that your brand isn’t about you.

I’m here to tell you the opposite.

When it’s just you in your business, you are your biggest asset. So don’t hide that away! Embrace it.

Capitalise on what makes you unique and own your story.

This looks like not only the stuff that’s commonly seen as acceptable to talk about, but more so the things that you’re scared to share.

Like:

- You’re a forever goth who listens to heavy metal all day while working.
- You’re neurodivergent and the thought of working full time in an office again makes you feel ill (this one is me).
- You’re freelance simply because you wanted more time with your children.

What’s an aspect of yourself that you’ve been hiding away in your biz? I’d love to read about it in the comments!
